Patients asked to wear face masks before attend GP surgeries
Patients attending doctor's surgeries in a Black Country borough are being asked to wear face masks from Monday.
It is now compulsory to wear face masks on public transport and in hospitals in England.
Health bosses in the Dudley borough have asked patients to observe these safety measures when attending GP surgeries.
Dr David Hegarty, chairman of the Dudley Clinical Commissioning Group, said: "We know it is possible to pass on coronavirus when you don’t have any symptoms.
"Face-coverings may help to protect those near you from the virus, as my mask will help to protect you and your mask will help to protect me.
"Face coverings are not a substitute for hand-washing or social distancing, but they are additional measure in the fight against coronavirus, to protect ourselves and our loved ones."
