Louis Johnson, 13, from Tettenhall, held a tombola in the Mander Centre, in the city centre, on Saturday(7) and raised £293.48.

Smestow School pupil Louis was at the centre between 9am and 5pm.

His mother, Teresa, said: "Louis has raised more than £200 with his tombola on Saturday. It's been an amazing day for him.

"The total was £293.48 which is amazing. Louis is so over the moon – this makes it well over £9,500 he has raised for Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

"It has been one of the best tombolas Louis has done at the Mander Centre.

"We have had lots of people turn up throughout the day. We had one lady who saw it in the Express and Star and turned up and donated £5.

"We also came home to a letter that Louis has been nominated for the Police and Crime Commissioner's outstanding citizen awards which is in April."

In April last year, Louis was named as one of Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity’s Hundred Heroes – in recognition for raising more than £6,000 for the charity.

In that month he also completed a 15-mile walk, dressed as a Storm Trooper from Star Wars, to raise even more funds for the charity.

In December, he was named on of the charity's ambassadors.

Louis has now raised more than £21,000 in total for a number of different charities.
