Walsall Manor Hospital's A&E performance up on previous month
Waiting times at Walsall Manor Hospital's Accident and Emergency department improved last month.
The Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust, which runs the hospital, has been in trouble repeatedly over the last few years for not hitting Government targets of seeing 95 per cent of patients in accident and emergency in under four hours.
The trust again missed the target in April, but it did record its best performance since September 2016.
Performance in April was 85.81 per cent, which is an improvement compared to March when it hit 80.46 per cent.
Phillip Thomas-Hands, chief operating officer, said: "The April performance is the highest achieved since September 2016.
"The highest number of breaches occurred due to unavailable beds mainly within Acute Medical Unit."
