Heartlands Hospital's maternity unit shut after mice found
Mice forced a ward on a maternity unit at a West Midlands hospital to be closed, it has emerged.

Postnatal patients were moved to other beds at Heartlands Hospital in Birmingham during the scare that lasted several days.
Maple Ward, part of the Princess of Wales Women's Unit was shut down while the rodents were removed and and the ward was 'deep cleaned.'
It happened last week
Joy Payne, head of midwifery at Heart of England NHS Trust said: "Postnatal patients were moved to another ward temporarily while a thorough investigation took place and the ward was deep cleaned as a precautionary measure.
"The ward is open and we are pleased to say that no further instances have been identified or reported. We would like to apologise to the patients and their families for any distress."
