Volunteers from Khalsa Aid set up a free food stall in the riverside town for affected residents and emergency teams dealing with the aftermath.

Khalsa Aid also visited Bewdley on Saturday where volunteers donated sandbags, water and snacks.

Ravi Singh, the chief executive officer at Khalsa Aid, said: "We are normally an international aid organisation working in places like refugee camps.

"In the last few years, we have been assisting with emergencies in the United Kingdom.

"We saw the flooding going on in parts of the UK and we decided to activate our teams. Wherever we are needed, we can help.

"It turned out a call for help [came] from Bewdley. We went there with hot meals.

"We provided just over 100 hot meals and we also brought sandbags that were needed.

"We left our details with local staff and community groups saying if you need anything, we are willing to help."

The hot meals were provided by the charity's outreach team, called Langar Aid, which is based in Coventry.
