The mound of rubbish was left on Shireland Road car park, in Smethwick, earlier this week.

Community activist Rizwan Jalil said: "I am really disturbed and disgusted by the appalling behaviour of the careless people who have left the Shireland Road car park in a utterly ridiculous state over the weekend."

Since raising the issue with Sandwell Council and West Midlands Police, the rubbish has been cleared.

Litter Watch, a charity which works in Sandwell, said the pile was "the most we have seen in one area".
