People of Dudley urged to apply for slice of tree planting pot
Community groups in Dudley are being urged to apply for a share of £10 million to plant more trees in the borough.
Funding has been made available by Forestry England through its Urban Tree Challenge Fund.
The scheme was launched last year to plant 130,000 trees in England's urban areas through small scale projects.
Dudley North MP Marco Longhi said: "This is a really worthwhile scheme and I would encourage local groups and individuals here in Dudley North to get involved.
"It’s been proven that planting more trees improves health and wellbeing, connects people with the outdoors, absorbs noise, reduces flood risk, cools temperatures through shading, and creates green spaces to help communities come together."
The scheme would see tree planting take place this winter.
