Man cut free and taken to hospital after Bloxwich crash

A man was cut free and taken to hospital after his car smashed into a tree in the Walsall borough last night.

The injured man in his 40s was cut free from the red Ford Transit van by firefighters after being trapped in the car in Broad Lane, Bloxwich.

West Midlands Ambulance Service said he suffered chest, leg and ankle injuries and was taken to Queen Elizabeth hospital in Birmingham.

He was given pain relief to help stabilise his condition before being taken to hospital

The crash happened just before 10:30pm yesterday.

One ambulance, a paramedic area support officer and a merit trauma doctor were on the scene.
