Firefighters tackle Walsall cannabis factory blaze - with pictures
[gallery] A fire broke out in a flat above a shop in Walsall - resulting in a discovery of a cannabis factory.
Around 15 plants were found above the signage shop in High Street, Walsall Wood, by fire crews.
Smoke billowed out of the windows of the first floor flat, just after the blaze broke out late Saturday night.
The cause of the fire has not yet been identified.
West Midlands Police spokesman Craig Hughes said: "We were alerted to the scene by the fire service just before 11.30pm on Saturday night. Around 15 plants were discovered and further inquiries are being carried out at the minute. No one has been arrested at this stage."
Crews from Walsall Wood and Aldridge were in attendance.

No one was thought to have been injured in the fire.
A spokesperson from West Midlands Fire Service said: "We received a call just before 10pm on Saturday evening to a fire in a first-floor flat above a shop. Two crews were in attendance, from Walsall and Aldridge fire stations.
"The fire had penetrated through the floor and effected the below business. It was discovered that it was being used as a cannabis factory.
"The electrics were isolated and no details of injuries were given.
"Two re-visits by fire crews were carried out at just after midnight and 8.45am this morning."
