Oldbury man, 75, dies after being hit by car
A 75-year-old man from Oldbury died after he was hit by car in Birmingham.
Police have appealed for witnesses to the incident, which happened on Tuesday night.
Graham Blakeway was crossing Croftdown Road opposite St Faith & St Laurence Church, in Edgbaston, when he was struck by a silver Vauxhall Astra.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Astra, a 62-year-old Quinton man, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving and has been bailed while enquiries continue.
Mr Blakeway's family said in a statement: "Graham, known to friends as Joe, will be sadly missed by all. The family wish for their privacy to be respected at this very sad time."
Sergeant Alan Hands, from the regional collision investigation unit, said: "We are asking for anyone who saw the Vauxhall Astra in the vicinity of Croftdown Road to call us. Our thoughts remain with the family of the victim at this sad time."
