Firefighters swing to rescue as girl, 14, gets stuck in playground

Firefighters saw the funny side when they responded to a 999 call to find a teenager stuck in a baby swing.

The 14-year-old had been out with friends at King George V playing fields in Bloxwich, when she decided to have a go on the play equipment.

But she was left red-faced when she found herself stuck for 30 minutes after getting wedged in the seat over the weekend. Her pals, unable to help, were forced to call 999 for emergency assistance. A crew from Wolverhampton Fire Station rushed to rescue the embarrassed girl, who was 'extremely apologetic'. Firefighters used a specialist saw to cut her loose – but not before the hilarious moment was caught on camera.

The fire crew tweeted: "Crews released girl trapped in child's swing. Safety advice given, advised to stick to see-saw and roundabout. She was very remorseful with exceptional manners."

Last year firefighters had to rescue a 14-year-old girl who got stuck in a swing at Victoria Park, Darlaston, and a crew freed another girl from a swing in Ryders Hayes Park.
