Car smashes into tree as emergency services deal with crashes across the Black Country

A car crashed into a tree in Wolverhampton - but the driver left the scene before emergency crews arrived.

The black Peugeot vehicle careered on to the central reservation on Three Tuns Lane in Bushbury before hitting the tree on Friday night.

Fire crews and police were called to the scene at 11.04pm.

But when they arrived, no occupants were present.

The fire crew from Fallings Park Green tweeted a picture of the crash and said: "Green Watch have just attended this rtc in Bushbury were unbelievably no know injuries reported."

Elsewhere three people were treated for minor injuries following a crash involving two cars in Walsall.

It happened in Wednesbury Road in the early hours of this morning.

Police, paramedics and fire crews were called to the scene at 1.48am.

But the occupant of one car was not present. The driver and passengers of the second car received treatment at the scene.

Walsall Fire Station tweeted a picture of the two cars involved showing the damage caused.

The crew helped clear oil from the road before leaving at 2.29am.

A woman was aslso taken to hospital after her car hit a tree in Wednesbury this morning.

The motorist, believed to be in her 60s, suffered a broken arm and wrist.

The crash happened in Manor House Road at around 10am.

Fire crews attended and helped remove the woman from her car by cutting the roof.

She was then taken to Walsall Manor Hospital for treatment.

Police are investigating what caused the crash.
