Driver escapes with cut thumb after car smashes into three vehicles and overturns
A car ended up on its roof after it hit three parked vehicles – yet the driver escaped with just a cut to his thumb.
The 24-year-old was taken to Russells Hall Hospital following the crash in Queen Street, Brierley Hill, on Monday night.
Police, ambulance and fire crews were called to the scene just after 11.30pm.
Drama ensued on the residential road as residents were woken by the sound of the smash in the street outside.
West Midlands Police spokesman Brigg Ford said: "No one was trapped in the vehicle upon arrival.
"The driver was conscious and breathing but had a cut to his thumb so was taken to hospital. The car had collided with three parked vehicles and overturned in the road.
"The vehicle was also slightly leaking petrol onto the road too."
West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman, Claire Brown, added: "The car was on its roof and one patient was taken to Russells Hall Hospital while another patient didn't require hospital treatment.
"One ambulance and one paramedic officer attended and we left the scene at 12.30am."
Fire crews from Dudley and Brierley Hill stations assessed the vehicle and made it safe following the smash.
An eyewitness, who did not wish to be named, said: "A VW Bora hit with three parked vehicles and a wall ultimately ending up on the roof in Queen Street."
