Pedestrian seriously injured in Pelsall lorry crash

A man in his 50s has been seriously injured in an accident with a lorry that closed a road in Pelsall this morning.

The pedestrian was in collision with the vehicle around 7.10am on Wolverhampton Road which is shut between its junctions with Foundry and Wood Lanes to allow police to investigate the cause.

The man was taken to Walsall's Manor Hospital with injuries to his head and leg that were initially described as serious but not life threatening.
