Woman seriously injured in West Bromwich bus crash
A woman was seriously injured when she was hit by a bus in West Bromwich today.
The woman, believed to be in her 30s, was left with a serious head injury and suspected pelvic injuries after the incident involving a single-decker National Express West Midlands vehicle.
Police were called to the scene at St Michael's Street at the junction of West Bromwich Ringway at 8.42 am today.
The woman, believed to be in her mid 30s, was treated for head and pelvic injuries at the scene.
She was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham by land ambulance, but the Air Ambulance was also called.
The incident was attended by West Midlands ambulance service, a paramedic officer and Midlands Air Ambulance.
West Midlands Ambulance spokesman John Hawker said: "Considering the circumstances of the crash it is extremely fortunate that the woman did not suffer more serious injuries."
