Pensioner fights for life after Wolverhampton crash
A pensioner was fighting for his life today after being hit by a car on a busy Wolverhampton road.
The crash happened on Penn Road and left the 76-year-old with serious leg and head injuries after reportedly being hit by a blue Mitsubishi.
The road was closed for more than an hour while emergency services attended the scene after the 9.30am accident yesterday.
Officers from West Midlands Police's collision investigation unit want witnesses to the crash, which happened near The Hollybush pub and reportedly involving a blue Mitsubishi car, to come forward.
Sgt Tim Rogers said: "We would like to speak to anyone who was on the Penn Road near to the Hollybush pub who may have seen the collision.
"This is a busy area and I am sure there are people with valuable information that we have yet to speak with."
