Car hits tree outside school in Kingswinford

A car left the road and hit a tree after crashing with another vehicle outside a school this afternoon.

Bromley Lane outside The Crestwood School, in Kingswinford, was partially closed for around an hour following the crash.

The male driver of the Renault car which hit the tree suffered suspected spinal injuries in the accident.

Crews decided to remove the roof of the car to allow paramedics to treat the man before he was taken to Dudley's Russells Hall Hospital.

The male driver of the second car, a Rover, also sustain injuries in the crash and went to hospital for further treatment.

Fire crews from Brierley Hill and Stourbridge stations attended the two car crash at 12.30pm.

Crew Commander Mark Harris, from Brierley Hill fire station, said the road was blocked for up to an hour before it reopened.

The cause of the accident is unclear at this stage.
