Woman rescued from Sandwell flat after chip pan fire

A woman was rescued from her home and taken to hospital after a pan fire in her kitchen got out of control.

Two crews form Stourbridge and Brierley Hill were called to Plant Street in Old Hill at 11.48pm last night after reports of a fire in the kitchen of a flat.

Two firefighters entered the mid-terrace property using breathing apparatus and pulled the woman out.

She was initially treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to Russell Hall Hospital.
