Home set alight in Netherton while man burns papers in back yard

This is the damage caused after a man accidentally set alight his house after burning papers outside his home.

Fire crews from Cradley Heath and Brierley Hill were called to Leabank Road in Netherton at 1.15pm on Friday after the fire got out of control.

The home owner had decided to burn papers in his back yard, but the nearby shed caught fire.

The flames then spread from the shed to his home, destroying all the windows on the back of the house and causing damage to the neighbouring house..

Fire crews were able to quickly bring the fire under control.

The shed and all its contents were destroyed, his windows were badly damaged and house smoke logged.
