Crash death victim is named by police

A man who died after his car hit a tree and flipped on its roof near Penkridge was engaged to be married, it was revealed today.

Ian McDonald, aged 39, of Ingestre Road, Stafford, died when his BMW 330 hit the tree in Congreve Road, between Lapley and Congreve, last week.

Mr McDonald worked as a manager at a health centre pharmacy in Penkridge. He moved to Stafford three years ago, and leaves behind his fiancée Alyson and their son Jack. His funeral is being held at Stafford Crematorium on Friday at 1pm.

His mother and father, Christine and Ian, and younger brothers Derek and David, today issued a family statement to say Mr McDonald would be 'sadly missed'.
