Driver flees after van smashes into lamp post in Dudley
A van smashed into a lamp post which toppled onto the vehicle in the Black Country, before the driver fled.

Residents rushed to the scene in Dudley after being woken by the sound of the impact.
The blue Ford Transit careered off the road in Netherton and struck the lamp post head-on. The driver managed to escape from the wreckage unaided before fleeing.
Police and firefighters were called to Marriott Road at around 4am yesterday.
Debris was scattered across the carriageway and pavement. The lamp post was severed at the base.
Fire chiefs said the driver had left the scene by the time emergency services arrived. Police are appealing for witnesses.
