The female driver of the car, aged in her 50s, is believed to have crashed after suffering an undisclosed medical problem. She was not injured, but taken to hospital for treatment for a medical emergency.

West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman John Hawker said: "We were called at 7.43pm to reports of a road traffic collision in Bristnall Hall Road, Oldbury.

"A lady, believed to be in her 50s was treated at the scene for a medical emergency, rather than for injuries as a result of the crash and transferred to City Hospital."

No-one else was injured.

The ambulance service sent a rapid response vehicle, an ambulance and a paramedic officer to the scene.

A fire crew from Oldbury also attended and made the vehicles safe.
