Man found injured in Sedgley left fighting for his life

A man was fighting for life today after being found critically injured in a street.

Police were called to Gospel End Road, near to Red Lane, in Sedgley, at 9.20pm yesterday to reports that a man had been injured.

Staffordshire Police spokeswoman Faye Casey said: "He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham and his condition is critical.

"An investigation is now underway to determine how he came by his injuries. We've got officers at the scene."

Part of the scene remained sealed off this morning. Anyone with information should contact Staffordshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 866 of July 17.
