The motorcyclist was riding a blue Triumph Sprint 1000cc bike eastwards along Crown Lane, in Waresley, yesterday morning when the accident happened.

Officers say the bike was travelling from the A449 towards Hartlebury Trading Estate when it crashed with a silver Peugeot Expert van shortly after 6.30am.

Paramedics attended the scene, but there was nothing they could do for the rider – a man in his 40s – and he was declared dead at the scene. The van driver was treated at the scene for a minor injury and shock.

Police closed the road for around three hours following the accident.

Witnesses can call 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 with reference 0052s 10/06/13.
