It happened at around 9.30am on New Street in the Hill Top area, and police closed the road between Hill Top and Norbury Road while the area was made safe.

West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman Chris Kowalik said: "We had a call at 9.29am to New Street in Hill Top, and we sent three rapid response vehicles and an ambulance crew as well."

Police spokeswoman Gina Lycett said: "We were called to a collision involving four cars. One woman was injured, but the injuries were not thought to be serious."

Several ambulances and police cars were in attendance, and traffic was being diverted at the junction with Hill Top by officers while paramedics tended to the injured woman at the scene.

Meanwhile in Walsall two men in their 20s were arrested after a car they are believed to have stolen crashed into lights just outside Manor Hospital this morning.
