Two dead after horror crashes in Brierley Hill and Bilston

Two people have been killed in separate road accidents in the Black Country.

A man died this morning after being hit by car on a busy commuter route in Brierley Hill, Dudley, and a pedestrian involved in a crash in Bilston also died.

Police and ambulance crews were called to the scene on the A4036 Pedmore Road in Dudley, just after 7am.

A man in his 30s was understood to have suffered serious injuries after the collision, and officers at the scene confirmed he had died.

Traffic quickly backed up in the area after police had to close the road around the Coppice Lane junction and Hurst Lane and Level Street.

The second pedestrian died after being in collision with a lorry on the Black Country Route in Bilston.

Officers arriving at the scene on Wednesday evening found a lorry had collided with a pedestrian near to the Lunt junction.

Paramedics treated him at the scene but he was later pronounced dead.

Inquiries were continuing today to identify the man, who died after the crash at around 9.45pm.
