The blaze was sparked in a large metal oil drum being used as a waste bin at the garage, in Halesowen.

Fire crews were called to the Long Lane site, at 11.15am today.

The blaze affected a tyre compressor at the premises and also spread to the roof at the rear of the buildings.

Roads around the building were closed police as a precaution, including a section of Malt Mill Lane and the Blackheath end of Long Lane.

West Midlands Fire Service said the fire had been put out in around 30 minutes but crews remained to ensure it had not spread to other parts of the building.

They also isolated electricity at the site.
