Cyclist seriously injured after being hit by car in Stourbridge

A cyclist remains in a serious condition in hospital after being involved in a crash with a car in Stourbridge.

The cyclist, a 74-year-old man from the Stourbridge area, was hit by a silver Peugeot 406 on Norton Road, Iverley, between Stourbridge and Kidderminster at 10.20am on Saturday.

He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham where he is being treated for back, neck and head injuries.

The driver of the car, a 74-year-old man from Stourbridge, was not injured.

The road was closed for around three hours while investigations were carried out at the scene.

Meanwhile, two people were taken to hospital after a crash between a car and a Transit van in Brierley Hill.

It happened at 2.30pm on Amblecote Road.

The crash left the driver of the car trapped inside the vehicle.
