Motorist killed as car crashes into field

A man died when the car he was driving left the road and crashed into a field near Kidderminster today.

His yellow Peugeot 107 crashed near The Plough Inn on the A4117 in Far Forest, at around 8.20am.

The man, who has not yet been named, was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

Police say the Peugeot left the road and went through a hedge before ending up in a field.

The Worcestershire Coroner has been informed and a post mortem will take place in due course.

PC Richard Watkins from West Mercia Police, said: "A man has tragically lost his life today and our thoughts are with his family at this sad time.

"An investigation has now been launched into how this happened, and we are therefore eager to hear from anyone who saw the incident or remembers seeing the car just before 8.20am."
