A hooded robber with a gun carried out a daytime raid on a post office in Oldbury – forcing a worker to handover hundreds of pounds in cash.
In what police have described as a brazen attack, the man, who had a scarf around his face, entered Dog Kennel Lane post office at 12.15pm yesterday.
He demanded money from the shop assistant, a woman in her 40s and showed her what she believed was the barrel of a gun, the rest being hidden in a bag.
She handed over a quantity of cash – understood to be a few hundred pounds - before the raider ran off along Londonderry Road into Douglas Road then Queens Road, where it is believed he attempted to flag down a taxi.
The raider is described as white, 5ft 7in, of slim build with sandy hair and slim white hands. He was wearing a check scarf that covered the bottom half of his face and was carrying a white plastic Asda bag.
