Tributes were today made to a Wolverhampton businessman.

Rajesh Chalotra, aged 37, died when his car veered off the road in the early hours before smashing into a lamp post and a wall on Finchfield Road West.

Mr Chalotra ran the All VW garage in Pubrook Road, East Park.

He was driving a silver Audi when he crashed, destroying part of a small garden wall opposite Uplands Junior School, near the junction with Linden Lea.

Mr Chalotra's best friend Michael Baptiste today spoke of his anguish at the loss of a "really popular guy who loved life".

"He loved his family and his family loved him," Mr Baptiste, from Wednesfield, said.

The crash happened at around 12.30am yesterday.
