City of Wolverhampton College is number one in the region, figures from the FE Choices Employer Satisfaction Survey show.

The results come in the wake of the college being rated top in the region for student satisfaction in July.

The employer survey shows the college is rated highest in the West Midlands and in the top 13 per cent of further education colleges nationally.

Employers were asked how likely they would be to recommend their training provider to another employer, with the college’s score of 95.4 per cent ranking it the highest of all further education colleges in the Black Country and above those in Birmingham, Staffordshire, Shropshire, and Coventry and Warwickshire.

The results follow the college being rated top in the region – and in the top 10 per cent nationally – for student satisfaction in the FE Choices Student Satisfaction Survey in July.

Kirk Hookham, vice principal for curriculum and quality, said: “For the college to be number one in the region and among the best in the country for both employer and student satisfaction is absolutely fantastic.

“We are extremely proud that continually adapting our provision to meet the needs of employers and providing apprentices and students with high quality teaching and learning has further cemented our position as one of the leading further education providers in the country.”

The questionnaire covered training provided by 649 general further education colleges, special and specialist designated colleges, private sector public funded, other public funded, and sixth form colleges – and the college’s results put it in the top 75 of all of those surveyed.

Employers interested in finding out more about the college’s apprenticeship programme can attend a breakfast meeting briefing at the Metro One campus on November 24 from 7.30am to 9am or contact the employer engagement team at employerenquiries@wolvcoll.ac.uk.

Young people wanting to be part of the college can find out more about apprenticeships, courses and qualifications on offer at it next open evening on November 8 from 4pm to 7pm.
