Phased return for university as some students back on campus
Some students will be able to study on campus at the University of Wolverhampton as part of a phased return plan.
Chiefs at the university said a range of students on various postgraduate courses could return from today in line with Government guidance.
Students have been urged to check their timetable – with other postgraduate students not returning to their campus before January 25 at the earliest.
The university has campuses in Wolverhampton and Walsall – both placed into Tier 4 – and Telford which has now been placed into Tier 3 measures.
Professor Julia Clarke, deputy vice-chancellor, said in an update to students: "The Government has now expanded the list of taught postgraduate courses that can return to on-campus teaching.
"Please check your timetable in the MyWLV app to see when your first day of teaching on campus is. All other taught postgraduate programmes will not be back on campus before January 25 at the earliest (subject to Government review on the 18 January)."
Postgraduate research students can continue with their studies as planned and access to labs on campus is permitted, university bosses have said.
The university said most foundation and undergraduate programmes don't start until January 25. And students and sports students won't return before January 25.
Nursing and other health undergraduate programmes may have an earlier start – with the date students given before Christmas remaining in place.
The university will open its libraries, study spaces, PC areas and catering for students engaging with face to face teaching and any student who requires access to a study space or PC to complete their online learning. Walsall campus' gym remains closed due to the Government guidelines.
