Almost 4,500 children absent from Walsall schools due to Covid-19
Almost 4,500 pupils were off school in Walsall during one day due to coronavirus.

Walsall Council revealed that 4,453 pupils were absent on November 11 due to "circumstances related to coronavirus".
Pupils were aged between five and 16-years-old, in classes from Reception up to Year 11.
The figure related to all 122 primary and secondary schools across the borough.

A spokesman for the council said: "Walsall has 122 schools in the borough. This includes local authority-maintained and academies.
"We currently have a number of educational settings that have had a positive cases of coronavirus and this continues to change on a daily basis.
"However we can confirm that on November 11 a total of 4,453 pupils from Reception through to Year 11 were absent due to circumstances related to coronavirus.
"This number continues to change on a daily basis.
"Walsall Council does not comment on individual educational settings or cases."
