Three year groups at Tipton school self-isolating after pupil tests positive for Covid-19
Three year groups at a Tipton school have been sent home to self-isolate after a pupil tested positive for coronavirus.
A pupil in Year 2 at Joseph Turner Primary School, and their parents, have tested positive for Covid-19, so as a precaution the bubbles that the child's siblings are in, Reception and Year 3, are also being sent home.
Staff working regularly in the three year groups will also be self-isolating.
A letter sent to parents on September 24 says: "We have been notified, today, September 24, that a pupil in Year 2 has tested positive for Covid-19.
"The child in question last attended school on September 18. The parents have also tested positive and as a precaution, following advice from Public Health England, we are having to close the bubbles that the child's siblings are in although these children have not tested positive.
"Therefore we are closing Year 2 and Reception and Year 3."
The pupils' self-isolation will finish on October 2 and they will return to school on October 6.
