Wolverhampton primary school sends pupils home after confirmed case of coronavirus
A Wolverhampton primary school has sent pupils home after a confirmed case of coronavirus.
Corpus Christi Catholic Primary Academy, in Wolverhampton, sent a letter to parents on Wednesday saying there has been a single connected confirmed case of Covid-19 within Reception and Year 3.
The letter says: "We have been advised by Public Health England that, as with a number of schools locally, there has been a single connected confirmed case of Covid-19 within our Reception and Year 3 bubbles.
More Covid-19 coverage:
"We know that you may find this concerning but are continuing to monitor the situation and are working closely with Public Health England and Wolverhampton Public Health.
"This letter is to inform you of the current situation and provide advice on how to support your child. Please be reassured that for most people, coronavirus (Covid-19) will be a mild illness.
"The small number of children and staff who have been in direct prolonged contact with the confirmed case will have received an individual letter and will be self-isolating for 14 days from their last contact with the positive case."
