Two members of staff at Walsall College test positive for coronavirus
Two staff members at Walsall College have tested positive for coronavirus.
Students and staff identified as being in the "close contact group" with the two workers have been advised to self-isolate for 14 days.
A statement on the college's website says: "We can confirm that we have two confirmed cases of staff with Covid-19 at Walsall College. We have taken swift action, in line with the guidance from Public Health England.
"We have acted upon definitive advice from the Local Health Protection Team to identify who (students and staff) should be in the close contact group. Direct and close contacts have been identified, contacted and advised to start a self-isolation period of 14 days.
"The college remains open and both students and staff can continue to attend as normal, as long as they (and anyone in their household) are not displaying any Covid-19 symptoms, or are awaiting a test result.
"We are working with Public Health England and following all guidance necessary to ensure the college environment is as safe as possible.
"We wish our colleagues a swift recovery and look forwarding to welcoming these students back to the college soon."
