Further 90 Wolverhampton pupils self-isolating after latest positive test
A Wolverhampton primary school has sent home a second year group after another pupil tested positive for coronavirus.
Ninety pupils in Year 6, at East Park Academy, in Wolverhampton, were sent home on Wednesday to self-isolate after a pupil tested positive for Covid-19.
It comes after a further 90 pupils in Year 3 were sent home on Monday to self-isolate after a student tested positive at the Hollington Road school.
It means the school now has 180 pupils self-isolating at home.
The school's headteacher Hayley Guest said: "We had Year 3 sent home on Monday and yesterday we had to close Year 6 after a confirmed case in Year 6."
The news comes as five other schools in Wolverhampton have had to send pupils home due to confirmed cases of coronavirus, including Highfields School and Royal Primary School.
