The talented youngsters were due to perform Romeo and Jools, written by Lenny Love the college's Drama instructor, but this may now be in jeopardy due to coronavirus.

Students turned their disappointment into positivity and with the help of their teachers, created a music video to spread some cheer while providing advice about self-isolation and social distancing.

They reworked EMF's Your Unbelievable into a new version called This is Achievable.

Helen Thom, performing arts course leader, added: " It was heart breaking to see the students reaction to the news that we may be closed and that the show may be postponed.

"So in order to boost the morale end on a high note we decided to bring the collaboration between music and performing arts together forward. This really gave the learners a sense of belonging and still part of something special to carry with them and reflect on."

The song informs fellow students about how they can continue their studies online throughout the pandemic.

James Stanley, curriculum manager, said: "To lift our spirits with the imminent isolation and curriculum closedown we decided to put a performance together as a precursor to the forthcoming 'Romeo and Jools'. The concept is based on Romeo and Juliet but is set in the 1990s, and features music from the Brit-pop era.

"We reworked a song from the show by EMF 'Your Unbelievable'. We decided to pull the song and dance together in a three hour window.

"I rewrote the lyrics to feature a positive spin and link it to how the learners can still engage with their studies over the forthcoming period and the students delivered with the perfect spirit to raise our morale and aspirations."
