Guests enjoy fairtrade fun at Wolverhampton primary school
Schoolchildren were treated to an afternoon tea with VIP guests.
Youngsters from Graiseley Primary School in Wolverhampton hosted the Mayor of Wolverhampton and her consort.
It was all part of their support for Fairtrade Fortnight.
Children enjoyed an array of cakes, fruits and drinks for the afternoon. Mayor Claire Darke and her husband Paul met students and some of their parents.
Many had spent the morning preparing the food. Other guests at the school in Pool Street included Louise Brown, from Midcounties Co-op, and Wolverhampton MP Pat McFadden.
Councillor Darke said: “I have had a wonderful afternoon and was impressed with the fact that the children knew so much about Fairtrade and were trying to support the cause.”
Headteacher Sharifan Nasa said: “It was a really positive event. It helped the children learn about Fairtrade and it was a real pleasure to welcome our guests to the school.”
