Oakmeadow Primary School in Ryan Avenue, Wednesfield has been placed on the list of priority patrols by West Midlands Police after residents and parents raised concerns about motorists driving fast and making rash movements..

A request for increased patrols from Wednesfield North Councillor Phil Bateman was accepted at the last PACT meeting for the area.

He said: "I continue to receive complaints from residents about the dangerous parking taking place at Oakmeadow School as parents take their children to school and pick them up on their way home.

"The police agreed to my request, which is of course good news for those local residents and the parents who have constantly flagged up the dangerous practices that some motorists perform.

"Throughout last year there were concerns about pupils' safety, especially around the school gates and in Ryan Avenue."

The city council has also been monitoring the area, and the school also issued a plea to motorists to be careful in the area.
