Halesowen primary school expansion set to get go-ahead

A primary school in Halesowen is set to expand with two new classrooms and an office, after plans were recommended for approval.

Proposals for the extension at Lapal Primary, in Priory Road, are due to be given the go-ahead by Dudley Council planners on Monday.

The school has put forward a scheme to demolish 'an existing prefabricated nursery building and outbuilding and construct new suitable teaching accommodation'.

Planning documents state that two trees will need to be removed to accommodate the new classrooms, while minor changes to the playground will also be needed.

This will allow the school to take on an extra 15 pupils.
