Graiseley Primary School floods after thieves steal part of the roof
Thieves ripped materials from the roof of a Wolverhampton primary school, causing it to flood.
The vandals struck at Graiseley Primary School, Graiseley Hill, taking material from around the chimneys.
They damaged tiles and skylights in the process and heavy rain the following day saw water pouring through the damaged roof and into the entrance hall and one of the corridors.
School bosses were forced to cordon off the affected area for three days following the incident.
The flooding caused damage to the ceiling and paintwork, and wrecked the work of pupils which was displayed in the corridor. It also disrupted lessons as the school was forced to close off the corridor, meaning pupils and teachers had to use the fire doors to gain access to their classrooms.
City education boss, Councillor Claire Darke, said: "This was deliberate vandalism and one which has caused a great deal of disruption for the pupils and teachers at Graiseley Primary School."
Anyone with information should call police on 101.
