The main bulk of the project at South Staffordshire College's campus in Cannock is now complete ahead of its scheduled reopening next month.

Finishing touches are being put to the striking atrium, the main focal point of the new and improved campus, which features a glass roof and spiral staircase.

Bosses say equipment will be fitted over the next few weeks, including signs and furniture, and computers will be installed.

The keys were handed over to the college by the contractors GF Tomlinson on Tuesday.

Steve Grant, director of estates at the college, said today: "I am really proud of what the project team have achieved, the facilities really are outstanding.

"The future of learning has now definitely arrived at South Staffordshire College."

The finished campus will be unveiled to the public for the first time on December 19 at a special open day.
