Staff and pupils at a Staffordshire high school are celebrating after receiving the highest praise possible from an Ofsted inspection team.

Cheslyn Hay Sport and Community High School was recently judged outstanding by the inspectors. The school currently has 1,340 students aged from 11 to 18 and has been over-subscribed for some years.

Most students come from within its local area but the school also takes students from Cannock, Walsall and Wolverhampton.

After a two-day inspection before half term, the Ofsted inspectors praised the students' courtesy, attitude and behaviour, and the contribution many make to the school and the wider community.

The inspectors say this reflects the students' superb spiritual, moral, social and cultural development.
