A £23 million Black Country school which was funded through the Government's scrapped Building Schools for the Future scheme has been officially opened.

The Bishop of Aston, the Rt Rev Andrew Watson, led celebrations at St Michael's Church of England High School in Rowley Regis. The school moved into its impressive new campus in Curral Road earlier this year, along with Whiteheath Pupil Referral Unit and Westminster School. Combined, the site is known as the Rowley Learning Campus.

The schools will remain three separate institutions but there will be 1,650 students and staff on the campus.

The landmark development is taking shape at the former Rowley College site.
