We believe that education should be challenging and engaging. We offer a wide range of stimulating experiences within a secure and caring learning environment where each individual child is known and their achievements celebrated. We set high standards for achievement and behaviour and are very proud of our students.
In May 2011 OFSTED said: "One of (the school's) greatest strengths is the students themselves who are polite, confident and articulate."
Examination results are impressive. In 2011 86% of students gained 5 GCSEs at A*-C with 66% 5A*-C including English and Maths. At 'A' level, 98% of students passed with 51% of grades at A*- B.
A wide range of academic and vocational courses are offered to maximise the chances of examination success. Our talented team of specialist staff encourage students to develop as independent, creative learners and seek their views to improve learning further. Parents are supportive of the school and welcome our regular feedback on their child's progress.
Access to specialist arts provision enables all students to build their confidence, whilst those who are talented have even greater opportunities to explore their talents further.
Education involves more than just examination results and we offer extra curricular opportunities such as trips, clubs and performances. The school has fantastic sports facilities and we are proud of our sporting reputation and the success students have enjoyed. Student leadership is encouraged and there is an active Student Council.
Our excellent Sixth Form offers a wide variety of Advanced Level and BTEC courses. Talented teachers, small group sizes and personalised learning are fundamental to our success.
Transition to secondary school can be both exciting and daunting and our programme ensures that each child receives the personal guidance that they need.
We invite you to join us at Open Evening on Thursday 6th October (7pm – 9pm) to see the outstanding opportunities on offer.
