Failing Sandwell school to become academy

A Sandwell school is set to be turned into an academy under new improvement plans.

The headteacher of Heathfield Foundation Technology College, in Cradley Heath, John Parker, who has been at the helm for 27 years, will also replaced.

The school was rated "inadequate" by inspectors in January before a notice to improve was issued.
