Wolverhampton University students enjoy graduation ceremonies

Thousands of students from across the Black Country and Staffordshire were today reaping the rewards of years of hard work during graduation ceremonies from Wolverhampton University.

The city was today being transformed with a sea of caps and gowns as students started flocking to celebrate their academic achievements.

Around 4,000 students will attend ceremonies at the city's Grand Theatre, in Lichfield Street, over the next week.

Among those graduating today was Charlotte Cunningham, of Boley Park, Lichfield. The 21-year-old, said she was delighted to achieve her honours degree in equine sports science.

She said: "I am so excited to be here, it was a three-year degree, so it is a lot of hard work. I think my favourite parts of the degree were the modules on nutrition and rehabilitation. I now looking forward to finding a job in the equine sports industry."

Kayleigh Green, aged 23, of Spennells, Kidderminster said she was looking forward to putting her forensic science degree into action. She said: "I am really pleased to be finally here accepting my degree. I want to work in mass disaster management."
