Angry parents have turned to social networking site Facebook in the hope of saving a South Staffordshire school from closing.

A page called Save Bilbrook Middle School from Closure has been set up and already has more than 200 followers.

It comes after education bosses at Staffordshire County Council launched a public consultation into the school's closure because of falling pupil numbers.

They also want to redraw school catchment areas as part of the shake-up.

But parents and pupils are not happy with the move, describing it as "disastrous".

Chloe Jarvis wrote on the page: "Bilbrook should not close down. It is a great school with loads of opportunitys. If it closes more schools will be overflowing."
